A joint drive with ASG at Woodruff Park β and a reminder that the fastest way to double your impact is to stop working alone.
On June 19, 2023, Sprinkling Smiles ran a joint food donation drive with ASG at Woodruff Park.
Partnering sounds like an administrative detail. In practice it changes the day completely: two sets of volunteers means two kitchens cooking, more hands on the table, a shorter wait in the line, and more food than either group could have put out alone.
The photograph from that morning is not of the adults or the food. It is three kids β one teenager in a grey-and-red Sprinkling Smiles polo, a younger girl in a tie-dye tee, and a small girl in pink glasses grinning up at the camera β standing in the park before the work started.
That is the honest picture of who does this work. Every drive is largely powered by teenagers and children who were brought along once and then decided to keep coming.
Our thanks to the ASG team. The table was better for having two groups behind it.
